Over the past month or so I've been designing a small collection for a fashion show in July, and pieces are finally starting to come to life. For a few of the garments, I'm using a digitally printed fabric featuring a pattern I created out of my own Instagram photos. It was fun to take a photograph and abstract it into a textile pattern. They're not perfect patterns yet, but I'm pretty happy with the result. After the show I will go back and refine the prints even more. I'm excited to dig up other photographs I have taken in the past that could transform into cool modern/graphic textile designs! The power of digital printing is so amazing. I just wish it was more affordable for indie makers like me. Spoonflower is handy for prototypes, but insane if you're trying to use it for production. I'll have to find another source if I'm going to bring these babies to market.
